Buckeye Beauty Bar is proud to offer free laser hair removal services to members of the trans community who experience transmisogyny (the specific oppression towards people perceived as trans feminine). This includes trans women, trans femmes, Two Spirit people, and trans and gender non-conforming people who were assigned/assumed male at birth.
Facial and body hair often lead to dysphoria. Despite the proven health benefits, only 5% of health insurance plans cover permanent hair removal, leaving many trans individuals without access to essential care. These structural barriers contribute to the heightened risk of crisis and suicide among trans individuals. Removing barriers to care, including financial burdens like medical expenses and debt, is vital in safeguarding the lives of trans individuals.
